[EXT] Upon installing babel-english, produce a warning if hyphen-english is missing

The Oxford Minidictionary was typeset from the same source material as was used by Dominik Wujastyk to originally ascertain the British English hyphenation patterns.

Agreed, but as TeX is intended to always produce the same results from the same input, TeX’s hyphenation patterns should not change over the course of time.  Individual documents (or sets of documents) may reference alternative patterns, but by default hyphenation should never change.

What should the hyphenation of the plural “theorems” in British English be?

Neither the Minidictionary nor the New Oxford have an entry for the plural form, from which I would infer that it is regular and therefore "the-orems".  Only polysyllabic words commencing "theorem" have more break points, of which "the-or-em-at[-]ic" is an example — the square brackets indicate where the New Oxford differs from the Minidictionary.
