This goal has already been slightly relaxed (it happened when fixltx2e vanished).
> Neither the Minidictionary nor the New Oxford have an entry for the plural form, from which I would infer that it is regular and therefore "the-orems".  Only polysyllabic words commencing "theorem" have more break points, of which "the-or-em-at[-]ic" is an example — the square brackets indicate where the New Oxford differs from the Minidictionary.
