{Design into 3D: A system for customizable project designs} {William Adams} {Design into 3D is a system for modeling parametric projects for manufacture using \acro{CNC} machines. It documents using Open\acro{SCAD} to allow a user to instantly see a 3D rendering of the result of adjusting a parameter in the Customizer interface, parameters are then saved as \JSON\ files which are then read into a Lua\LaTeX\ file which creates a \PDF\ as a cut list\slash setup sheet\slash assembly instructions and MetaPost to create \SVG\ files which may be loaded into a \acro{CAM} tool. A further possibility is using a tool such as \acro{TPL} (Tool Path Language) to make files which are ready to cut. This was initially a (funded) Kickstarter \url{https://kickstarter.com/projects/designinto3d/\\design-into-3d-a-book-of-customizable-project-desi} and is being developed as a wiki page on the Shapeoko project \\(\url{https://wiki.shapeoko.com/index.php/Design_\\into_3D}) with code on GitHub \\(\url{https://github.com/WillAdams/Design_Into_3D} and a number of sample files and project have already been made: \url{https://cutrocket.com/p/5c9fb998c0b69/}, \url{https://cutrocket.com/p/5cb536396c281/}, \url{https://cutrocket.com/p/5cba77918bb4b/}; \\and this is tied into a Thingiverse project \\(\url{https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3575705} \\and an on-line box generator \\(\url{http://chaunax.github.io/projects/\\twhl-box/twhl.html}).}
