[texhax] \phantom, \hphantom doesn't work with powerdot overlays?

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has been able to get \phantom or \hphantom working within a powerdot presentation with overlays (such as "pause")?
I have this following code:
\begin{slide}{Test}
\begin{enumerate}
\item Something \pause
\item $g(k + 1) = -(k + 1) - 3$ \\
\hphantom{g(k + 1)} $= -k - 4$. \pause
\end{enumerate}
\end{slide}
The \hphantom unfortunately doesn't behave. Presumably due to powerdot?
Thanks,
Hubert
