Yes, version 1.6. of biblatex seems incompatible wit tex4ht.

The situation is difficult for me and for people in my field
(Linguistics and philology): I need version 1.6 of Biblatex because it
offers a reasonably good support of UTF8, which I need for my kind of
work. But my publishers want MSWord files, and so I need to convert from
LaTeX. The alternative, latex2rtf, is not suitable because apparently it
does not support biblatex at all.

The version I'm using of biblatex.4ht is biblatex.4ht. For beamer.4ht I
have version 1.1.
Unfortunately I'm afraid I can't be of any help, technically speaking,
but I volunteer to test new versions!
