man pages without installing doc tree

    exists any way how to install man pages but without installing a
    complete doc tree ?

There is no automated way, sorry.

What comes to mind is to omit the doc tree during installation and
rsync the man pages:

rsync://tug.org/tldevsrc/Master/texmf-dist/doc/man/ /your/dir/

You could rsync them into the TL tree if you want, or anywhere else you
point MANPATH to. It doesn't matter.

The above is the current man pages, i.e., gets updated as the year goes
on. It would make sense to do that from time to time if you are also
updating TL nightly.
