By the way, powerdot style cannot be used in TexLive2023. The powerdot documentation (page 40) mentions a mailing list at https://www.freelists.org/list/powerdot which is evidently still present. That's the place to report the bug(s). (See the doc for a bit more info.) --best, karl.
