TeXlive 2023 broke \ LetLtxMacro

Hi All,

It seems that with the upgrade to TeXlive 2023 Heiko Oberdiek's \LetLtxMacro does not work anymore.
I reported this at https://github.com/ho-tex/letltxmacro – but AFAIK Heiko is not (very) active anymore?

Thus, is it clear what happened here in (La)TeX and how one could \let such commands as \autoref ?
