I hate to be suggesting more work for Norbert, but it would be nice if
'tlmgr list' had an option '--installed' that would do what you want:
tlmgr list --installed [collections|schemes|pkg...]
would behave exactly as the current version, except that it would ignore
the location and just list the installed items.
