[Described below are several files/directories in the doc tree
that seem misplaced. All are in texmf-dist/doc/latex/ .]
The following 3 subdirectories document Bibtex packages with no
corresponding latex package. Surely they should be in
texmf-dist/doc/bibtex/.
* abstyles (This directory also contains a file, apreambl.tex,
which should be in the latex search path. This file is
\input by the .bbl files produced by thes bibtex styles.)
* dinat
* vancouver
The following subdirectories document packages in the tex/generic
tree and so should be in doc/generic/.
* edmac
* fltpoint
The following subdirectories document Metapost macro packages and
should be in doc/metapost/.
* expressg
* makecirc
* metaobj
* metaplot
* slideshow
The following are fonts without any accompanying LaTeX package for their
use. Surely they belong in doc/fonts/.
* astro
* cmastro
* ecc
* esint-type1
* greenpoint
The following are LaTeX packages. TeXLive contains the docs, but no
package in the texmf-dist/tex/latex tree. My remarks below give a
possible reason for TeXlive's failure to include them.
* interactiveworkbook: The package on CTAN places
interactiveworkbook.sty inside a subdirectory named
interactiveworkbook.sty. That's just asking for confusion.
* namespc: The distribution contains no .ins file, which is generated
by running atex of the .dtx file.
* webeq: This is from the acrotex distribution. Until recently, its
input files were hidden inside some .zip files. It was
confusing to install by hand, much less automatically.
I think what works now is to latex all *.ins and copy
all *.sty an *.def to texmf-dist/tex/latex/, and maybe
change the directory name to acrotex. The bundle has
expanded beyond web.sty and exerquiz.sty (whence webEQ).
