Yes, I know. The problem is that I don't know how to upgrade a dir to a
link. Please do the following as root:

cd /usr/share/texmf/fonts
rmdir map    (should work, it should be empty)
ln -s /etc/texmf/map .
mktexlsr
updmap-sys

This should work.
