[pdftex] using mylatex.fmt possible?

It should be yes, the format making part of pdftex is essentially the
same as that of tex. I don't think I've tried it though.
Actually I never use "mylatex" at all. When I wrote the original version
of that (circa 1988, I think) having a format that had article.sty
pre-loaded saved about 15minutes per document (running on a 540K PC at
the time....)
