Alain, *I* can read the above two lines are about "font encoding."
That's something similiar to gas station encoding: you can draw all
kind of liquors from all kind of nozzles, but most of them won't
become your stomach or your car's stomach good ...

Hints like these help a bit:

	(/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/tex/latex/PS3fonts/palatino.sty
	Package: palatino 2001/06/04 PSNFSS-v8.2 (SPQR)
	)
	(/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/tex/latex/localfonts/mathpazo.sty
	Package: mathpazo 2001/06/04 PSNFSS-v8.2 Palatino w/ Pazo Math
(D.Puga, WaS)
	\symupright=\mathgroup4
	)

but the actual information is kept until the end of the LOG file is
reached:

</usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/fonts/type1/public/mathpazo/

Here all the used PostScript fonts are finally listed.

Both fonts look very alike. The differences are in the shapes of
accents.

If you're not confused, you're not paying attention
